Apart from the Danish Open the gardenbowl is the longest running blood bowl tournament in Denmark. The tournament is a jolly affair that focuses less on competitive bloodbowl and more on beers, barbecue, beers and good old’e Danish HYGGE in the backyard of one Danish coaches houses. This year the gardenbowl have moved to the suburb of Vestegnen and is hosted by MissSweden. It is hinted that this year’s tournament will have homemade beer, lots of spot-prices and a ruleset that is suited for the tipsy coach.

The tournament will take place on the 8th of August 2017 and costs 350 DKK (which includes 3 meals and free beer and drinks)..

The tournament fee includes three meals and drinks. Running out of beer would be considered the ultimate failure in organizing The Gardenbowl. There will also be soft drinks in moderate quantities.

The evening meal will be rather meat heavy, but there will be vegetarian alternatives.

All the new spikes are used. I.E including Chameleon skinks, ogre punters og Underworld and Old World Alliance roster. Old World Alliance is considered tier 1 for this tournament.

Extra twist: After game 1, 2 and 3 the opponent will propose 3 players that have been given a skill (and still has it), one of these (of your choice) will lose a chosen skill of their coach choice.

Game 2 is played with an extra rr for the game, but can only be accessed by drinking a shot fernet branca before using it.

There might be other stupid rules, don’t take it too seriously.

Bring two printed copies of your roster.

Painted miniatures are not mandatory but most people don’t like playing against unpainted miniatures.

We encourage you to use the following color coded bases:

  • Grey/Black: Lineman
  • Red: Blitzer
  • Green: Blocker
  • White: Thrower
  • Yellow: Catcher, Runner.

If your opponent can’t easily recognize the different player types on your team, you must let him mark them somehow (without damaging the miniatures, of course).

2 Points are awarded for a victory, 1 Point for a Draw, 0 Points for a Loss, and -1 Point for a Concede.

In the case of equal point score in the table of standings the following tie-breaker is used:

E Score in the Beer Race, see below

E TD+Cas Net score.

E Net TD.

E Net Cas.

Beer Race

1 point is awarded for each beer you finish during the tournament. Vomiting will land you on zero point in the Beer Race. Cheating in the Beer Race will strip you of all Honor.

  • First round is random draw. Subsequent rounds will be swissdraw. The best placed coaches will be seated on the tables with low numbers.
  • Gametime is 2½ hour. the Tournament Orcanizer will make an announcement at half-time.
  • Dice must be easily recognized. We recommend everyone to use the official NAF Block dice, and clearly point out what a given logo on a dice is (D6 – Either a 1 or a 6.) If a Coach cannot accept your dice, you must play with standard dice.
  • If a Coach requests to use your dice, you must “share” dice.
  • In doubt—Orcanizer has the final word.
